Kazuaki began his legal career by earning a place at the Law School of Chuo University, one of Japan's most prestigious and competitive law schools.

After graduating in the late 1990s, he spent more than ten years with a leading building materials manufacturer, where he developed both legal expertise and technical engineering knowledge. This unique combination of experience sparked his interest in intellectual property and ultimately led him to qualify as a Japanese Patent and Trademark Attorney in 2012.

Kazuaki joined KIPB in 2014 and has since built extensive experience representing international clients before the Japan Patent Office. His practice covers the drafting and prosecution of patent applications across a broad range of technologies, with particular expertise in mechanical engineering, construction, architecture, civil engineering and design-related inventions.

Drawing on both his legal and engineering backgrounds, Kazuaki provides practical, commercially focused advice to clients seeking robust patent protection in Japan.

Outside the office, Kazuaki is a keen cyclist and is always happy to share his experience with the less seasoned riders at KIPB. He is also an enthusiastic fan of rock 'n' roll.
