Masa is our Vice President who also heads up our trademarks and design team. Masa has particular expertise in the registration and enforcement of foreign trademarks and designs in the complicated Japanese market.

He completed his graduate education in business and sciences at Jiyu Gakuen College University Tokyo – following such illustrious alumni as Yoko Ono!

He joined KIPB in 2000 to head up our IP Administration and Operations section whilst training for his attorney qualification. He then moved to his current concentration on the trademarks and design side of our practice. He was registered as an attorney in 2007 and is a member of INTA.

His practice covers a diverse and interesting range of TM and design prosecution and litigation and licensing work. He has advised a famous German rock band, prominent social media influencers and a globally-known web conferencing service.

Outside the office Masa enjoys playing golf and immersing himself in all things Spanish. On weekends and (very) early mornings you can usually find him on his bodyboard surfing out on Kamakura Beach, Tokyo bay.
