Sayuri has been with us for 15 years and has been a key figure in our success over that time. 

She started her IP career in 1993 and joined our IP management team as a paralegal in 2005. She subsequently led the team outright for over a decade until deciding to utilize her all-round IP knowledge and expertise to qualify as a patent and trademark attorney in 2018. 

She continues to oversee IP management in an advisory role whilst building her trademark practice. She has worked particularly closely with our Chinese associates in this respect and has gained a expert understanding of Chinese trademark practices.

Sayuri handles all aspects of trade mark work, with a particular focus on trademark searches and due diligence work, and managing our international trade mark portfolios. She is experienced in drafting and negotiating agreements between opposing parties and resolving TM disputes. 

Sayuri has a keen interest in naturalist studies after studying to be a nature guide. She is a keen outdoorswoman and would love to take you hiking, kayaking or to study the stars in the Japan Alps if you ask.
