KIPB at APAA 2025 in Kuala Lumpur

Steve Denney • 21 November 2025

APAA 2025 in Kuala Lumpur was a truly memorable few days, and Yoshi and Steve were delighted to meet many new friends and reconnect with colleagues and long-standing partners from across the Asia-Pacific, Europe and the US.

What stood out most this year was the atmosphere — warm, relaxed, and full of genuine conversation. The hospitality of our Malaysian hosts, and the laughter shared late into the evenings all made this APAA one to remember.

Thank you again to everyone who took the time to meet with us — whether for a scheduled meeting, on one of the interesting excursions (whether long or short!) or a quick hallway chat or catch-up. We truly appreciate the warm invitations and the meaningful conversations.

We look forward to seeing many of you again. In the meantime, our team remains ready to support you with all your patent, design, and trademark needs in Japan.

See you at APAA 2026!

In accordance with the rules introduced last year, applicants may request the temporary suspension of the examination of a divisional application until the result of an appeal for the parent application. This has made it more efficient for examiners to examine divisional applications with reference to the appeal results and enabled applicants to refine their divisional claim strategies based on the outcome of the appeal.
